How Loving Yourself Is The Cure-All
“Self-love” sounds so indulgent, doesn’t it?
Perhaps you’re expecting me to suggest that you take a bubble bath. Or a walk. Or a nap.
Sure, all those things are good for your mind, body and soul, but that’s not the kind of self-love I’m talking about here. Oh no, you’re not getting away with it that easily!
True self-love goes deeper – way deeper.
True self-love requires you to do the “you work”. It requires you to be still and go within. It requires you to show yourself understanding and compassion. To forgive yourself if necessary. To respect yourself and allow others to love you fully.
Why do the departed want you to practice self-love?
Our departed loved ones have an enlightened perspective – they know that we self-loathe (they’ve been there!), and that’s not what they want for you. The truth is, they want the best and the highest good for you.
Why is it so important to love yourself?
I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase “thoughts become things”. If you do not love yourself, you are teaching others to treat you in the same way. When you are giving yourself emotional pain, your body will respond with physical pain.
Conversely, treat yourself well and with respect, and others will have no choice but to do the same. Show yourself compassion, and your ailments will dissipate.
But it’s not enough to go through the motions or to simply say “I love myself”. You have to live self-love.
In this video, I explain the full consequences of self-loathing and how to bring self-love into your life. (Spoiler alert: you already have the power!)
